Joyce Miller, 83, of Sioux Falls, died peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls. A beautiful soul has completed her journey on earth.

Joyce Marie Galbraith was born March 21, 1932 at Marshall, MN. She grew up in the Marshall area and received her education in Russell, MN, graduating from high school in 1950. She met Howard Miller and the two were married on July 29, 1952 in Russell, MN. Following their marriage, the couple lived in various places prior to moving to Sioux Falls. Joyce graduated LPN school in Sioux Falls, and also worked for Dakota Laundry.

Joyce worked for 2 years at the VA Hospital. She later worked at McKennan Hospital for 13 years, then for the Rehabilitation Center for the blind. She retired from the health care profession in 1993. In retirement, Joyce worked part time at the Old Courthouse Museum Store. For hobbies, she enjoyed playing bingo and doing word search puzzles.

Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Richard (Michelle) Miller of Sioux Falls, SD; one granddaughter, Rachel Miller; one grandson, Colin Dyvig; one great grandson, Landon Lawson; her siblings, Louella Gilb, Ronald Galbraith, Kathryn (Louie) Pochardt, Bradley (Wendy) Galbraith, Sandra (James) Andres and Danny (Monica) Galbraith.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Gladys Galbraith; her husband in May of 1998; one brother, Norman Galbraith and two sisters, Ramona Munsinger and Patricia Galbraith.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 - 2:30 pm Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Main Avenue location. Interment will be in Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
