Kathleen Arnold Obituary
Kathleen Arnold

Kathleen L. Arnold, 66, joined her Lord Jesus on Sunday, December 4, at her home that she shares with her husband of 46 years, George Arnold. Kathy was born July 30, 1950, in Bridgewater, SD, to the late Harold and Helen Mayer. She graduated from Bridgewater High School and earned a registered nursing degree from the University of South Dakota. Kathy spent her life caring for others. She easily shared her smile and empathy during more than 30 years of nursing at Sioux Valley Hospital, Charter Hospital, Avera Hospitals in Sioux Falls and Salem Community Clinic, where she delivered care for more than 15 years. She also spent uncounted hours caring for family and friends when not at work.

Kathy is well known for her always-ready laugh and hug. She loved parties, music, the theater and this joyful Christmastime. She was an enthusiastic traveler, especially to all places warm such as Hawaii and Texas. Above all, her faith and family were the center of her world.

She is survived her daughter, Kristi Arnold; son and daughter-in-law, George and Tammy Arnold; grandsons, Rayten Arnold Rex and Grant Arnold; sister-in-law, Sherry Garness; one nephew; two great nieces and a great nephew.

A prayer service for Kathy will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services will begin on Friday, December 9, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Salem. A reception will follow the services in the parish hall.
