Kristen Thie Obituary
Kristen Thie

Kristen Thie, 44, passed away peacefully October 21st, 2017, surrounded by family and friends, at Mayo Clinic due to complications from Pneumonia. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm on Thursday, October 26 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 6-8 on Wednesday, October 25 at the Celebration Center in Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Kristen Taylor was born September 12, 1973 in Sioux Falls to Art and Gloria Taylor, and was the youngest of 3 children. She spent her childhood on the family farm in Ramona until the age of 12 when she moved to Sioux Falls where she lived the rest of her life. She graduated from Washington High School in 1992 and went on to attend University of SD, Mankato State, and Colorado Tech where she obtained a degree in Criminal Justice. After college, she was employed by The Juvenile Detention Center, and Lutheran Social Services.

She met the love of her life (after Prince of course), Corey Thie in 2007, and they married June 15, 2010. Through that union they had one child, Taylor, and she was a step mother to Caden Thie and Eden White.

Krissy's greatest joys came from spending time with family and friends, whether it be hanging out in the backyard playing in the garden or picking rasberries with Taylor, hanging out with Caden, special Girls' Nights with her niece Destinee, or getting together with her other niece Cassandra, as well as time spent with her siblings. She and Corey loved to travel together to attend concerts. Saturday nights were often spent playing cards with friends. She also had a deep affection for animals- which you could tell by the number of pets she had, the most recent one being a raccoon.

She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, and is survived by her husband Corey, son Taylor, step children Caden Thie and Eden White, 1 brother, Kevin Taylor, 1 sister Kim Taylor, 3 nieces, Destinee Taylor, Cassandra (Dan) Taylor, Addison Thie, and 1 nephew, Aiden Thie, all of Sioux Falls.
