Larry Dean Costain, age 75 of Naperville, IL passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born January 21, 1940 to his loving late parents, Chalmer and Edna Costain in Yakima, WA. Cherished husband of Marlys Costain, wedded for 46 years. Beloved dad of David Patrick (Laura, nee Simonson) Costain of Oakland, CA. Fond brother of Ronald (Cathi) Costain of Baltic, SD. Larry leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Larry was a 1962 graduate of South Dakota State, in Brookings, SD and a proud US Army veteran reaching a rank as Captain. He worked as a computer programmer and later as a manufacturing software consultant. He was working part time in this capacity until his passing. Larry's passion was for volunteerism and the outdoors. Throughout his life he contributed his time and many talents to Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, Naperville Park district as a trail master, Habitat for Humanity, and DuPage Children's Museum. He was also active in the Naperville evening Kiwanis. Larry will always be remembered as a tall, gentle man with the patience of Job, a soft caring voice and a twinkle in his eye! In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, IL Rt. 53, Wilmington, IL 60481, 815-423-2149. Visitation: Monday, September 28th 4:30 -7:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540. Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
