Lucille Schoepf, 86, of Chester, passed into eternal peace on August 18 at Avera Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Lucille was born on February 22, 1930, in Buffalo, New York, the eldest of three children to Leslie and Lucille (Simmons) Duly. After graduating Parker High School in Clarence, New York, she married Wilferd (Bill) Schoepf on October 9, 1949, in Spencer, SD. To this union were born eight children.

Lucille and Bill raised their family in South Dakota, New York, Colorado and California before returning to South Dakota in 1964. Wherever they lived, Lucille's family was her favorite pastime. She was extremely devoted to all of them and remained loving and active in their lives to the end. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, a son Kevin and a daughter Cathleen Pardy, her parents and her brother.

Lucille is survived by her sister Priscilla of Illinois, sons Michael (Beverly) of Albert Lea, MN, Steven (Penny) of Centerville, SD and Daniel (Mary) of Prairie Village, KS, as well as daughters Susan Schoepf - Bucks of San Antonio, TX, Cindy (Rich) Bilka of Chester, SD, and Sandi (Jeff) Hurst of Sioux Falls, and son-in-law Michael Pardy of Yankton, along with 22 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Lucille will always be remembered for touching the lives of the many people she came into contact with and for her constant efforts to make life better for everyone who was a part of hers.

A family memorial gathering was held for Lucille on Saturday, August 20, in Sioux Falls.
