Sioux Falls, SD ~ Marlene Jo Stickfort, 76, died on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls.

Service will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 16, 2017 at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls with the family present from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Marlene Jo Wipf, daughter of Joseph and Louise (Hinrichs) Wipf, was born on November 26, 1940 at Freeman, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Mennonite Church in Freeman. Marlene was raised and received her education in Freeman.

Marlene was united in marriage with Irvin Earl Stickfort on March 21, 1959 in Freeman, SD. They lived in Canistota for almost 2 years. While living in Canistota, Marlene joined Zion Lutheran Church. Marlene and Irvin then made their home in Sioux Falls and became members of East Side Lutheran Church. Marlene worked at Sears Department Store and at their affiliated businesses for many years, now Citibank; retiring in 2001.

Marlene was a member of East Side Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as spoiling them. She also enjoyed playing video lottery at Big Al's Casino and other area casinos; playing games with her family at Christmas; watching NASCAR, the Minnesota Vikings and the Twins. She especially looked forward to her daily routine of having morning coffee and social time with her neighbor, Naomi Reaves and watching Wheel of Fortune in the evening.

Grateful for having shared her life are a daughter, Janelle Miller and her husband, Donnie, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Emily Chambers and her husband, Reece, and Robbie Miller, Katie Schutz and Alex Reyna; three great-grandchildren: Jaden Perry, Angelina Wilcox and Jacob Wilcox; two sisters-in-laws: Marilyn Stickfort of Monticello, MN and Delores Johnson of Prior Lake, MN; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Louise Wipf; husband, Irvin E. Stickfort on December 9, 2004; daughter, Jolene Reyna and one brother, Wayne Wipf. An online guestbook is available at
