Mildred Savold

Mildred Savold, 98, of Sioux Falls, left to be with the Lord, August 26, 2015 at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls.

Milderd Irene Voight was born in Sioux Falls, SD on December 23, 1916 to Albert and Amanda (Zimmel) Voight and raised in Sioux Falls along with her sisters, Lillian, Lucille, Hulda, Mame, and her brothers, Dick, Walt, Ervin, Wilbur and Frank. She graduated from Washington High School in 1935.

She was united in marriage with Marvin Savold on November 25, 1936 at Canton, SD. They were the parents of sons Jerry, Mike, Jim, Dennis, Roger and daughter, Diane; 10 grandchildren; 16 great Grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Mildred was briefly employed with John Morrell and Company and later at Nettleton College for 12 years. Besides her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed traveling, fishing, reading and Bingo.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Jerry (Nancy) Savold of Edwards, CO, James (Ann Stone Arrow) Savold of Sioux Falls, SD, Dennis (Bonnie) Savold of Palisade, CO, Roger Savold of Sioux Falls, SD and Diane (Cliff Jansons) Skillman of Sioux Falls, SD; her daughter-in-law, Mary Lou of Sioux Falls, SD; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 5 brothers; 4 sisters; and her son, Mike Savold.

Funeral Services will begin 1:00 pm Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Main Avenue location. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Main Avenue location.
