Neil J. Broscha passed away at his home in Hot Springs Village, AR on 24 October 2016 having celebrated his 90th Birthday in April 2016. He was born 7 April 1926 in Hudson, SD to Theron and Louella Broscha.

He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Rachel Ide Alexander in September 1951. Growing up in rural Hudson enabled him to develop strong foundations from family, Church and community providing a sense of security and confidence which would be used during his life-time as he pursued many adventures in his ever expanding world.

He proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, achieving the rank of Commander. He received his commission through an accelerated Officer training program at Notre Dame University, later serving aboard the USS Pasadena, USS Yorktown, USS Princeton, USS Firedrake and USS Jenkins. As a young Ensign aboard the USS Pasadena, he was present in Tokyo Bay on 2 September 1945 at the signing of surrender terms of the Allied Nations by the Japanese. He served in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War being decorated with Navy Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, World War II Victory and Korean Service.

Upon his retirement from the U.S. Navy in 1967, he and his beloved wife Rachel moved back to their home state of South Dakota. His creative talents were demonstrated in the building of their Dream Home in Lincoln County - Sioux Falls, SD. He then built custom homes for several years until they moved to Hot Springs Village, AR in 1985, both of them desiring warmer winters and year-around-golfing. He and Rachel had creative-artistic abilities; he spent many hours in his wood-working shop creating many beautiful objects of art, still being treasured by family and friends. Upon Rachel's passing in 1995, he then took many world-wide adventures traveling to over 100 countries.

Survivors include: Brother Dale Broscha (Marie) - Middleton, CT, Cousin Donald Broscha, Jr. (Paula) - Plymouth, MN, Nephews: Todd Broscha (Janine) - Yankton, SD, Fred Alexander - Knoxville, TN, David Eidy - Meade, WA, Charles Miller (Janell) - Indianapolis, IN, Nieces: Tami Broscha Haberer - Sioux Falls, SD, Nancy Alexander - Louisville, CO, Suzanne McDonald (Roger) - Bozeman, MT, Susan Nelson - Edwardsville, IL, Beth Thurston - Belle Fourche, SD and many adored and loved great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Theron and Louella Broscha, his wife Rachel Broscha and uncle Donald Broscha.

He was a member of Presbyterian Kirk in Pines Church, Hot Springs Village, AR and Life Member - Jeptha lodge NO. 121, Hudson, SD. Interment will be Eden Cemetery - Hudson, SD with services pending.
