Olivia Slocum, 11 years old of Sioux Falls, SD, received her miracle in Heaven. She gained her golden angel wings on September 16, 2015, after a fearless 10 month journey of a very rare form of cancer.

Olivia Ann Slocum was born on July 19, 2004, in Sioux Falls, SD. She attended school briefly at John Harris Elementary before moving to St. Mary's School.

A real spitfire, Olivia loved and lived life to its fullest. She loved to ride her bike around the neighborhood and hanging out with her friends. She enjoyed soccer, hunting and fishing, and music. She could sing like no other and had the voice of an angel. Olivia was ahead of her age and remained strong in her faith throughout her illness, never complaining.

Grateful for having shared her life are her mother Brooke Slocum and very special friend Dallas Waagmeester, Sioux Falls, SD; her father Blake Prochniak and his wife Kaila, Sioux Falls, SD; grandparents Susan "Sue" Slocum, Sioux Falls, SD, Mindy and Jim Viereck, Sioux Falls, SD, Todd Prochniak, Sioux Falls, SD; great-grandparents Eugene "Hit" Mayer, Mitchell, SD, John and Julie Prochniak, Sioux Falls, SD, Bunny Randall, Sioux Falls, SD; aunts Heather Graber and her husband Jamie and their son Lincoln, Worthington, MN, Kaylee Prochniak, Sioux Falls, SD; uncle Jason Prochniak, Sioux Falls, SD; half-sister Ava Prochniak, Sioux Falls, SD; her new Pomsky puppy Brie; and many other relatives and friends.

Olivia was preceded in death by her grandfather Jeffrey Slocum; great-grandmothers Mildred Mayer and Harriet "Bette" and Paul Slocum; great-grandfather Don Randall; and step-uncle Joe Viereck.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Mary Church, Holy Spirit Church or the Lloyd / Huber Family, in honor of Olivia.

Visitation with the family present will be from 4 to 6 pm with a prayer service beginning at 6 pm on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at St. Mary Church. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. Mary Church with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
