Madison, SD - Orva Anderson, age 89, died at Bethel Lutheran Home on August 26, 2013.

Orva Carper was born on March 21, 1924 at Rutland, SD to George and Jesse (Merry) Carper. She married Robert Aus on July 15, 1946 at Madison. He preceded her in death in 1967. She married Warren Anderson on September 27, 1970 at Sioux Falls. He died in 2010.

She is survived by one daughter - Kay (Gary) Pederson of Chester, SD. 6 grandchildren - Nathan (Katy) of Chugiak, AK, Stacey (Scott) of Palmer, AK, Libby Pederson of Anchorage, AK, Courtney (Chad) Lyle of Billings, MT, Collin (Alison) of Saginaw, TX, Austin (Sarah) of Tacoma, WA. Step Granddaughter - Tammy (Bary) Mayer of Colorado Springs, CO, 4 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. 2 brothers in law - Gordon (Verlynn) Anderson and Don (Dorothy) Andrson and 4 sisters in law - Helen Woodhouse, Dorcas Youel, Rhoda (John) Otten and Marian Anderson. Several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son - Tom in 2010, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the United Methodist Church with Rev Barry Whipkey officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

She grew up on a farm by Rutland graduating from Rutland High School in 1942. She moved to Madison where she worked at Rexall Drug Store. She also worked for the Aus Coal Company, Red Owl Grocery and Colligan Soft Water. In 1963, she and Bob opened the Bob's A & W Drive Inn which she owned until 1972. She moved to Sioux Falls in 1970 and lived in Mt Lake, MN before returning to Madison in 1988.

She was a volunteer at Prairie Village and was a member of the circle at the United Methodist Church in Madison.

The family will be present at 7:00 PM on Thursday at Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
