Patricia DeBoer Obituary
Patricia DeBoer

Patricia DeBoer, 77, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at the Sanford Medical Center.

Patricia M. Melton, daughter of Jerry and Hazel (Dailey) Melton, was born on December 16, 1938, in Kansas City, MO. The family moved to Sioux Falls, SD, in 1942, where Patricia grew up, lovingly raised by her mother and step-father, Chester Brown. She graduated from Washington High School and went to work with Bell Telephone Co.

Patricia was united in marriage with Kenneth DeBoer on July 3, 1963, in Rock Rapids, IA. They returned to Sioux Falls and began to raise a family. When the children were old enough, Patricia went back to work with Monick Pipe and Supply, Home Federal Bank, Premier Bank Card, and lastly at Raven Industries. She retired in 2004, and remained at home to care for her husband, Ken.

Sharp-witted with a great sense of humor, Patricia spent many hours reading and enjoying tea. She loved watching old movies like Casablanca and African Queen, but spent most of her time with her children and grandchildren. She liked to listen to the music of Barbara Streisand and Frank Sinatra. She took great pride in being a Democrat and worked hard with the George McGovern campaign.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Kenneth C. DeBoer, Sioux Falls, SD; sons, Michael DeBoer and his wife Nadine, LaClaire, IA, K. C. DeBoer and his wife Stacey, Jamestown, ND, Tim DeBoer and his wife Annette, Sioux Falls, SD; 6 grandchildren, Benjamin, Andrew, Daniel, Matthew, Eric, and Dylan DeBoer; 2 great-grandchildren; honorary granddaughter, Jennifer Janish; niece, Jacque Doss; and many other relatives and friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley Perryman.

Visitation with the family present will be from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home Westside Chapel, 6200 West 41st Street. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home Westside Chapel.
