Sioux Falls - Raymond C. Haugan, 89, died Mon., June 13, 2016. His memorial service will be 11 AM Thur., June 16 at Grace Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, with private interment before the service. Visitation begins at 5 PM Wed., June 15 at George Boom Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Sioux Falls, where the family will greet friends from 5-7 PM.

Ray was born July 2, 1926 in Canton, SD. As a child he moved with his family to Sioux Falls. He grew up there and graduated from Washington High School. Ray served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a guard during the Nuremburg Trials. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Sioux Falls and worked as a self-employed bricklayer until retiring.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice; a son, Mark Haugan, Sioux Falls; 2 grandchildren, Trent Haugan, Sioux Falls, Kimberly (John) Haugan, Canyon City, CO; 2 great-grandchildren, Kameron King and Christopher Kurtz; 4 step-children, Cathy (Dan) Assid, Mike Little and Janet Earhart, all of Sioux Falls, Deb (Phil Marten) Little, Tucson, AZ; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Luella (Frank) Lacey, Salem; and a sister-in-law, Viola Haugan, Sioux Falls.
