Steven Sandhurst Obituary
Steven Sandhurst

Steven Lester Sandhurst passed away peacefully on September 4th 2015 at his home in Sioux Falls, SD after a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive liver cancer; he was 58. Steve was born in Worthington, MN on September 20th 1956 to Lester Sandhurst and Donnabelle (Erickson). Steve had worked as a sales representative for MacArthur Company for 37 years. Other than his family, his passions were fishing, sailing and scuba diving. He is survived by his loving wife, Lauri of 34 years; and their children, Eric and Amy Sandhurst. He is also survived by his mother, his sisters Marie Brasel and Dorothy (Richard) Malzan, and his brother, Brian Sandhurst, all of Sioux Falls, SD. Steve was preceded in death by his father, infant sister, Norma-Jean Sandhurst, father-in-law Charles H. Neller, and brother-in-law, Gary Brasel. Steve wanted to be remembered as someone who loved people and he showed that love by putting the needs of others before his own. He was such a genuine and caring man who was always there for everyone is all his roles, whether as a father, husband, brother, son, friend, coach or colleague; simply everyone in his life that he touched. To commemorate and celebrate Steve's life, a visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in downtown Sioux Falls, SD on Wednesday September 9th from noon to 9pm. The family will be present from 5-7pm to share stories and memories of Steve's life. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10th at Brandon Lutheran Church at 2pm followed by a light meal as we gather with family and friends.
