Tracy Morehead

Tracy Burton Morehead, son of Burton and Linda (Newlon) Morehead, was born on October 16, 1978 in Mitchell, S. D. His life was tragically taken on October 21, 2017 in a car accident. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm with a 7 pm prayer service on Friday at Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem. The funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday also at the funeral home.

He was baptized and raised in the Catholic faith, he grew up in Spencer, S.D. He graduated from McCook Central High School in 1997.

His love of cars, and his dream of restoring his grandfather's 1966 Impala, not only led him to degrees in Autobody Repair and Diesel Mechanics from Southeast Technical Institute, but to certification as a Ford Master Mechanic. His excellent skills and favorite saying of " being cheap is not good and being good is not cheap" led him to positions from Sioux Falls to Mitchell with numerous employers.

He was united in marriage to Teresa Geppert on July 21, 2001. They were blessed with two daughters, McKenzie and Kaylee. Tracy was a true volunteer. As a survivor of the 1998 Spencer tornado, he knew the importance of helping others. Not only was he a volunteer fireman on the Crooks, Salem and Spencer fire departments he was the person you could count on when you needed a helping hand. Tracy knew how to enjoy life and lived everyday for what it was worth.

Left to share his memories are: his daughters, McKenzie and Kaylee
