Troy Nichols Obituary
Troy Nichols

Troy Joseph Nichols was born on November 6, 1982 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He died on May 7, 2017 from a massive brain bleed.

Troy graduated from O'Gorman High School in 2001 and went on to receive a bachelor's degree from the University of South Dakota. Troy worked for Nichols Media for over 10 years and was most proud of the marketing work he did for Ashley Furniture retailers nationwide.

Troy had an authentic love for Jesus and an authentic love for his family. He adored his nieces and nephew, and loved spending time at the lake with them. He truly had a heart of gold. He was incapable of ending a conversation without telling those he loved how proud they made him and how much he loved them. Troy was a dog lover and enjoyed playing golf, cooking, fishing, watching soccer and March Madness basketball. He loved his country and sincerely treasured living in the land of the free and home of the brave.

He attended both Embrace Church and Celebrate Community Church and had a great love for his Savior Jesus Christ.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Mike and Peggy Nichols; his brothers Shawn (Gina) Nichols and Justin (Kristin) Nichols; his nephew Noah; his nieces, Jocelyn, Kate, Ellie and Finley; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Troy was preceded in death by his nephew, Jack Michael Nichols, and his grandparents, Iver and Elvina Nichols, and Joseph and Irene Daniels.

Memorials made be directed to Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Campus Crusades for Christ.

Though his life was cut short, his family rejoices in the time they had with him. There will be a celebration of Troy's life Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Miller Funeral Home's Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, with family present from 5 to 7pm. Troy's funeral will begin 11 AM on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Celebrate Community Church, 1000 S. Sycamore Ave., Sioux Falls.
