Walter S. Marzinke

Walter S. Marzinke, age 74, of Buffalo Grove. Cherished husband of Judith for 50 years. Beloved father of Eric (Karen) and Liza. Dear brother of Anita (Helmut) Koslowski. Fond uncle of many.

Walter was born near Lodz, Poland on January 16, 1941. At the age of nine, Walter, his parents and his sister Anita were sponsored settled as immigrants in Calgary, Alberta. He attended college at Sioux Falls College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

On June 5, 1965, Walter and Judy (Julin) Marzinke were married. Walter had a long and successful business career over his lifetime. He began a commercial janitorial services company while in college. Walter grew and expanded the business over 25 years In 1992, he sold his business and moved with Judy to Buffalo Grove, Illinois. In the Chicago area, Walter established himself as an insurance and financial advisor. Many of his clients have become treasured friends.

Walter’s interests included photography and genealogy. Through genealogy he made many wonderful and valued friends. Walter’s Christian faith and love for the Lord were evident to all who knew him until his death.

Memorial Visitation Friday, January 22 3-8pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling. Life Celebration Service Saturday 11am at Willow Creek Chapel, 67 E. Algonquin Rd., South Barrington, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to Samaritan Ministries of Ukraine at would be appreciated.
