Glenna Wilson Obituary

Glenna Wilson

Sioux Falls - Glenna Wilson, lifelong resident of Sioux Falls, SD, died Thursday, November 5, 2020, at the Inn on Westport. She was 90.

Glenna was born September 21, 1930, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Glen and Juanita (Hawkins) Coffey. She attended Sioux Falls schools and graduated from Washington Senior High School.

On October 9, 1949, Glenna was united in marriage to Robert C. Wilson in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home on a farm just outside of Sioux Falls on what is now 57th Street and Sertoma Avenue. Glenna became a homemaker and loving mother.

In 1971, Glenna began her administration career with Augustana University. After working in many different areas, she retired from Augie after 27 years. After retirement, Robert and Glenna were able to spend more time at their lake home at Wall Lake. They also enjoyed traveling to visit relatives in California and Virginia. In her free time, Glenna enjoyed reading novels, sewing, and tending to her vegetable garden. She cherished times cooking and hosting large family dinners and events.

She was a longtime and faithful member of Sunnycrest United Methodist Church, Young Men and Women, and the Wayne Township Firefighter's Auxiliary.

Glenna absolutely adored her husband, Robert. The two were happily married just under 64 years before he passed away on June 5, 2012. Blessed with an outgoing spirit, Glenna maintained a wide circle of friends. Her memory will be cherished and treasured.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Juanita "Pepper" Hlebichuk, Sioux Falls, SD, Curtis (Amy) Wilson, Fairfax, VA, Shelley (Ned) Sandbulte, Luverne, MN, Mark (Colleen) Wilson, San Clemente, CA; grandchildren, Rebecca Elaine (Amaan) Karim, Taylor Jon (Leah) Pederson, Connor Ned (Samantha) Sandbulte; great-grandchildren, Ryan Jon Pederson and Torran Lee Pederson; and a host of relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Robert, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald; and sister, Phyllis.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00am Monday November 9, 2020, at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Avenue (81st and Minnesota Avenue.) The family will be present to greet friends from 2-4 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. www.millerfh.com
