Gordon Elmer Broeder April 3, 1929 -- July 15, 2021 The family of Gordon Broeder sadly announce his passing on July 15, 2021 at the age of 92. Gordon grew up on the family homestead and attended school in Maxstone, SK. He met Margaret Young in 1958 and they married in 1959. Gordon and Margaret lived on the Broeder farm, where they raised their two children, Lynn and Michael. Gordon was a man of many interests and he was passionate about pursuing them. He was a farmer, pilot, conservationist, hunter, hunting guide, traveler and volunteer. Gordon followed his dreams and lived life to the fullest. Gordon is lovingly survived by his wife Margaret, daughter Lynn (Jim) Banford and son Michael (Teresa) Broeder, granddaughter Stephanie (Steve) and their sons Cooper and Corbin, grandson Jacob (Heather), and their son Vincent, granddaughter Jasmine (Braidy), brother Don Broeder, sisters Marion Nelmes and Jean (Otto) Silzer, sister-in-law Muriel Wittig as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon is predeceased by his granddaughter Kira, parents Jacob and Eva Broeder, sister Joyce (Roger) Rasmussen, brother Keith (Mary) Broeder, brothers-in-law Bill Nelmes, George Young, Jack (Mary) Young and sisters-in-law Kitty Broeder, Lila (Earl) Johnson and Joyce (Murray) Knox. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Providence Place, especially those at Guardian Grove, who took amazing care of Gordon and treated him like family. A Celebration of Life for Gordon will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm at St. George's Parish Hall, Assiniboia, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gordon may be made to the Assiniboia & District Wildlife Federation, PO Box 1361, Assiniboia, SK S0H 0B0.
