Andrew PARZYGNAT Obituary

PARZYGNAT, Andrew Andrew Parzygnat "Andy" started his earthly journey on December 3, 1947 in the great city of Chicago. He was the youngest son of Andrew Joseph Parzygnat and Rose Socha Parzygnat, whom he joined in heaven on June 5, 2016, due to cardiac arrest. Andy is also predeceased by his beloved brother Ron. Andy grew up in the Windy City and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1965 and attended Illinois Technical Institute. He then started his brilliant sales career with United Technologies (Carrier Air Conditioning). Andy was hired by American Invesco in Chicago and thus began an amazing career in residential real estate specializing in condominium sales. His real estate career took him to a variety of locations; Chicago, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Saint Augustine, New Orleans, Houston, Atlanta. He met his loving wife, Diane, while onsite at the Carlyle in Cleveland, Ohio. He had the pleasure of working with some of the best people in the real estate industry at Northside Realty and Park Signature Properties in Atlanta, representing Park Avenue and Park Regency, Coldwell Banker and Palmer House Properties. He enjoyed numerous travels throughout the world for work and play and especially his assignments in The Canary Islands and Portugal. Andy was trusted and loved by many, but his greatest love was for his Lord and Savior and he was a committed Christian Catholic for 68 years. Andy enjoyed his 3rd degree association with The Knights of Columbus, where he affiliated with many Christian Catholic Brothers and participated in various community and volunteer events, especially the Coweta County Special Olympics. Andy resided in Newnan, GA for the past 8 years with his wife Diane Cole Parzygnat, and was surrounded by his "southern family", mother-in-law Bonnie Jean Cole, sister-in-law Beverly Schmitt and her husband Bill all of Newnan, GA, nephew Jerry Barnes and family from Douglasville, GA, and niece Jennifer (Duane) Gordon from Buford, GA. Online condolences may be sent to the family at [email protected]. Andy also had two loving, beautiful sisters, Germaine Carriglio and Barbara (Dennis) Nordman and sister-in-law Ilena Parzygnat, all of the Chicago area, as well as many special cousins, nieces and nephews. Andy was loved by many and celebrated life every day. He would consider it an honor to have your presence at a Funeral Mass celebrating his life at Saint George Catholic Church in Newnan, Georgia at 771 Roscoe Road, on Saturday June 11th at 11:00am. The family will greet guests at the church prior to the service and a luncheon will follow the Mass. In lieu of flowers, Andy's family requests donations in his memory to Saint George Catholic Church or the Coweta County Special Olympics at PO Box 280, Newnan, GA. 30264. I was there in Cleveland for Andy's first day in real estate (and for that first night too, a story that is still getting retold!). A beautiful and imposing presence, Andy seemed larger than life. Always an encouraging word accompanied with a quick wit and warm smile, Andy was a true mentor and friend. Although terribly saddened by his loss, I can't help but smile thinking of our times together. My favorite will always be the day this most beautiful blonde walked into the Carlyle to look at an apartment for rent. After showing her around, Andy walked back into the office and blurted out "Vallosio, did you see that woman? I'm going to marry her!"...and I'm so glad he did. Diane, you and Andy always seemed so right for each other, I can't think of any couples whose relationship I admired more. I wish you all my best.

We will all miss our Uncle Sonny so very much. He was such a warm, caring, vibrant man and truly gave the best hugs. It was always special when Sonny and Diane came into town and the family would get together, we will treasure those memories forever. Our Uncle is gone too soon, but I know the heavens just got a lot more Sunny! You are forever in our hearts and thoughts, Love Valerie and Ilena.
