George Haney was a prince of a man! I have known him since he was a child and as an adult. I watched him as an athlete at Russell High School and through his tenure as a coach and as an administrator with Fulton County Schools. He always brought a smile to my face with his kindness and willingness to be of help. May he rest in peace.

Your father and husband is truly one of the best Honorable men I have had the pleasure to know and be around in my lifetime. He shaped so many lives in a positive way and stood beside us when we had fallen and he gave us hope and then pointed us in the right direction. Just truly a remarkable positive man who made a difference in people's lives and in the community! I know where he he is going I just hope I get to see him there. From one of many, my deepest Regrets to the entire family.

Coach Haney hired me as an assistant coach in 1971. He was a mentor for me as I learned a lot from him regarding coaching and motivating young people. His daughter, Valerie, was one of my most special players who I coached in basketball. I will miss him. Coach Mike Hendry

Peggy & Family,
I am speaking for the Atlanta Metro Lions Club and myself. PDG George Haney was our club's Guiding Lion in 1992. He taught our club about Lionism and how to be good Lions; and, he was always available until his illness. He was a Lions' Lion and one hell of a good man. He was solid, dependable and quite a bit of fun. We loved him so much and will miss him equally as much. We pray God's comfort for your family because he is someone who can't be replaced. We will never forget his kindness and love for our club.
