Glenn Brewer

Family-Placed Death Notice

Glenn Royce Brewer, 60, of Gordon and formerly of Eatonton, Atlanta, and Macon, died on July 28, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late Kebbie E. Brewer and Dot (Renfroe) Brewer of Gordon (formerly of Macon and Lumber City), Glenn grew up in Macon and after serving in the Air Force and in Vietnam, he went to work with Southern Bell in Macon and Atlanta. After retiring in 1991, he went on to work with companies supporting Southern Bell and Georgia Power. Glenn was an avid skier, competitive golfer, and an energetic fisherman and hunter. Glenn and his brother Don took his last major fishing trip to Key West in December 2005 before Glenn started his chemotherapy. They reportedly partied a little as well. In December last year, he made his final ski trip to Colorado. A real animal lover, his dogs will be happy to see Glenn again, especially King, his beloved Golden Retriever, and Girly, who showed up when Glenn needed her. Glenn was a wonderful son, a great big brother, and a fun-loving man, and he will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. He lived life large.
