Bolton Family,
May you find comfort in this poem:
What Makes A Dad
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,He called it Dad

As a young man arriving from Omaha, NE, to attend college, I was the first in my family to do so. During my junior year, I was given the opportunity to produce and direct the Clark College Coronation. I had a few meetings with Mr. Bolton to discuss my plans and budget. His smile and quiet manner gave me and my small crew confidence, security and most importantly, let us know that we were charged to our best! I am forever grateful to him for his support- in short-because he believed in me. To the Bolton family, know that you father was truly blessed. He always shared his love, wisdom and kindness with many students at Clark who have since gone on to great careers, but most importantly, and perhaps the greatest gift he shared-he helped us understand the importance of being a loving, courageous human being. May God Bless and keep you. Monty Ross, '80.

It was at Hunter Hill where I met Deacon Bolton. He was a kind and gentle man with a good sense of humor. I will miss him a lot because I always looked forward to our little exchange of words and then we'd laugh. I remember coming to church one Sunday wearing a sleeveless dress and he asked me " where is the rest of your dress?" I laughed and said I thought it was ok but from that day on when I wore that dress I put on a scarf or jacket. Deacon Bolton I am glad you passed through my life. To the family I pray God will strengthen you in this time of loss. Mary Seay

When I heard of Roy Lee's passing, I smiled. I smiled because of the memories and fond times we had at family gatherings. He would always remind me that I was the daughter and Carol is the mother. We would just sit there and just laugh. He would ask me, why are sitting with these old folks? To the family continue to hold onto the memories. Love yall, cousins always

When I heard the news of Roy Lee's passing, I didn't cry. I actually smiled. I smiled because I remember the times we sat together at family gatherings and just laughed. He would laugh my Carol and I, the relationship we have with each other. Roy Lee would always say Jill you're the daughter and Carol is the mother. To my family, my cousin will be missed, I know your hearts are heavy. But I thank God for the memories and the laughter. Love you all

My uncle was a great man that will be missed so very much. It seems surreal that you have gone to begin a new life with God himself, what a time I can only imagine you are having with a new name and new body. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!!!While right now my heart is heavy and my tears are many I know that you and my mom are sitting at the Master's feet basking in his glory, for you both are in that place that we all long to be oneday. With each passing day and every encounter that i will continue to have with my family i will seek comfort in them with the best gifts you gave them and they are as follows: in Althea, who carries your will to set things in order at the drop of hat. In Reggie, who is the quiet storm that makes me stop and listen when cachos is on the rise. In Jr, who has your mellow attitude even in the most troublesome times. In Jayson, who is physically identical to you, and finally, in my Aunt Jean who carries that enormous strength that only God can give and that you carried with you every step of the way. Uncle Roy you were truly a man that was after Gods own heart to very end.You are what I pray my sons will strive to be like when they get grown and on their own. Oh how I will miss you! So i'll end this note with these words JOB WELL DONE THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT!!!!! You have earned the your crown and spot in the presence of God. I will always love you and remember you. To The Bolton Family and Friends,
My Prayers and condolence are with you in theses bereavement times. Rest to assure that God has added your love one to the heavenly bound roster... Deacon Bolton whom I affectionately knew from formerly "Whitesville Baptist Church" was a true role model. He inspired greatness by his endless selfless deeds. His demeanor was like a quiet storm but his action moved mountains. Deacon Bolton was a beacon of light to myself and others in the Oakland City community. May God keep this family strong in the mist of this change over.

To Dr. Bolton and Family,
I am sorry to hear of your loss, you are in my thoughts and prayers. God promises us that those who mourn, shall be comforted. I pray for your comfort in the days and weeks ahead.
I would like to share a poem with you:
If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again.
No Farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.
My heart's still active in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.
But now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you'll always stay.
Lifting you in prayer....Lisa D. Harris
