Family-Placed Death Notice
BLASCHKE, Theodore Mr. Theodore Blaschke, age 80 of Conyers, died Saturday, April 13, 2013. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gretchen Anne Blaschke. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Treat Blaschke; son, Karl Blaschke, both of Conyers; niece, Suzanne Smith, Port Huron, MI; Larry and Janet Wilt, Owosso, MI; brother-in-law, Charles Treat, Rochester, NY. Mr. Blaschke was born May 5, 1932 in Lincoln, NE. He graduated from Great Neck High School in Great Neck, NY in 1950 and was president of the Government Organization his senior year. He went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Purdue University in 1954 with a Degree in Engineering and received his Master's degree from MIT in 1956. He furthered his education with graduate studies finishing in 1963. He was a member of the Chi Epsilon Society and the Tau Beta Pi Society and a life member and certificated teacher of the RSCDS, Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. He founded the Atlanta branch of the RSCDS and was a life member of the Clan Donald and Clan Lindsay. He taught and danced with the RSCDS in Japan, Germany, Brazil, Italy, England, Canada, and throughout the United States. He was in the St. Andrews Society, Burns Club and active in the Stone Mountain Highland Games. He set up RSCDS dancing platform and dancing spread throughout the Southeastern area. He was co-founder of the summer week-long Society Thistle School RSCDS in Banner Elk, NC. More recently he was a member of the Conyers Lions Club. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Father Lin Watts as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Alley Cat Allies, P.O. Box 98179, Washington, D.C. 20077 or UNG, Gretchen Anne Blaschke Scholarship Fund, P.O. I just learned of Ted's death. What a loss to the Scottish community My prayers go out to Marilyn and Karl. I remember many classes with Ted and his enthusiasm for dancing and the dance...

To the family of Mr.Blaschke, I am sorry to hear of the death of your loved one. He seemed like he was a lot of fun to be around. May the words of Jesus found at Matthew 22:31-33 where Jesus said that even dead individuals were alive to Almighty God. Hopefully these words will comfort the family in a way that I cannot.
