Athanasia Williamson Obituary

Williamson, Athanasia (Sia)

Age 95 of Atlanta passed away on December 19, 2018. She was born in Auburn Maine as Athanasia Rizoulis. She graduated from Bates College and was a member of the Lewiston Maine Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity.

She is proceeded in death by her husband James P Williamson, Jr. and son James Gregory Williamson.

Sia met Jim in the Navy in Pensacola FL in 1942 where she was a flight instrument instructor and he was a fighter pilot flying the coveted F4u Corsair. They married in 1946 and moved to Atlanta. Sia worked as a highly successful real estate agent. She was also an avid golfer playing at Cherokee Town and Country Club.

She is survived by her daughter Lorinda Ann Lambert (Ed) and son James P Williamson lll (Carolyn), 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Private services are planned.

Larry & I were blessed to have known Sia and enjoyed her company for many years.

Such a wonderful neighbor and friend. She would love to go out to eat at the 57th Fighter restaurant. There, it would take hours to walk through so that Sia could look at every picture in hopes of recognizing someone. What a delight it was to take her there. I loved her very much!
