WARE, Lula Mae Mother LULA MAE WARE Funeral services for Mother Lula Mae Ware will be held 11 AM Thursday September 20th, 2012 at Butler Street Baptist Church, 315 Ralph McGill Blvd NE, Pastor Eric L. Taylor, Sr., Ed.S. Officiating, Interment Monte Vista Biblical Gardens. Remains will lie in state from 10 AM until the hour of service. Mother Lula Mae Winston Ware was born on December 18, 1911 in Opelika, Alabama to Lizzie Lee Winston and Louis Robinson. In 1932 she moved to Atlanta and began her career working for Mr. Edgar Chambers, Jr. and wife, Laura Candler Chambers, daughter of Asa Candler, Jr. Her husband, Julius Ware, preceded her in death. Through the decades she created and maintained many devoted family, friends and honorary family members through her work at the Butler Street Baptist Church congregation and in her community. She was known for her independence, dependability, integrity, quick wit and a "tell it like it is" personality. Lula Mae is survived by her sister, Constance, (IN); honorary daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Dean Heard, (GA); nieces Donna Black (KY), Linda Hardy (GA); great niece Sedara Burson (OH) and a host of many other relatives and friends, and her Butler Street Baptist Church family. Her adopted Atlanta family includes Suzanne and Thomas Modisett, and their sons, Corey and Johnathan (Kristi) and granddaughter Katelyn.
