Otis BRUMBY Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
BRUMBY, Otis, Jr. OTIS ANOLDUS BRUMBY, JR. Otis Anoldus Brumby, Jr., 72, of Marietta died Saturday, September 8, 2012. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 12, at the First United Methodist Church of Marietta, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Sam Matthews officiating. Otis is survived by his wife Martha Lee, daughters Spain Gregory, Lee Garrett, Betsy Tarbutton, Anna Brumby and son Otis Brumby III; 10 grandchildren; and his sister, Bebe Brumby Leonard. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the First United Methodist Church 56 Whitlock Ave. Marietta, Georgia 30064 or the Otis A. Brumby Jr. Community Newspaper Scholarship Fund at Georgia Press Educational Foundation 3066 Mercer University Dr. Atlanta, GA 30341. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta is in charge of arrangements.

I am so deeply saddened to read of Otis 's passing .I send my deepest sympathies to Martha Lee and her family ,her grandkids i knew and i am very sorry for your loss .I knew him many years and i feel very sad .

I am deeply saddened to learn of Otis' passing. He has been a good friend since our days at the University of Georgia. His many contributions to the civic life of our State as well as his friendship will be sorely missed. Deepest sympathy to Martha Lee and the entire Brumby family.

When I graduated from UGA and moved to Roswell Ga. Bill Hartman suggested I go by and introduce myself to Otis Brumby. That meeting resulted into a 28 yr business relationship and friendship. I am proud to have known Otis and more proud to have been his friend. My deepest condolences to Martha Lee, Spain, Lee, Betsy, Anna, Otis III and the entire Brumby family.

Otis loved his Family, he loved his Bulldogs and he was a loyal friend. I will truely miss him. When I saw on TV where Otis had passed, I went directly to MDJ online and read his obit.It was then that I realized what a great man of vision Otis was as well as how much so many respected him. I was honored that he was my friend and former patient.
My condolensces to all of his large and wonderful family.

We are very sorry to hear that Otis has passed away. Although I live in Lima, Peru (South America); I had the pleasure to met him during my trips to Atlanta to spend time with my father.
He was a great friend for my Dad (F.T.Espinoza M.D). Always ready to help, support him and provide the proper advise. We will certainly miss him very much.
To the family, our deepest sympathy and the certainty that he will live forever in the hearts and best memories of his loved ones, friends and close family.

I am sad that my planned reunion with our mate and good friend from Athens Y Camp will not happen, Otis was a real friend, leader and personality in the '50s in our North Georgia paradise, we had simple pleasures at that period, had to talk, relate, exercise and have warm religious training, in this period we learned soild values in life, Otis and spoke of rockers and life too many years ago, we have lost a 'good guy' with high standards, Tom Fraser
