Francis Clark Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

Mr. Francis Richardson Clark, III, of Loganville, died April 2, 2007. He was born October 5, 1950 in Savannah, GA. He graduated from Woodward Academy in 1968 and then, after graduating from Occidental College in Los Angeles, Francis joined the Navy and served in the submarine force. Following his time in the service, his gift of gab led him to a career in advertising, where he worked as an HTML programmer, a magazine editor, and the manager of a motorcycle shop. He's had a lifelong love of two wheels and is still a rider and enthusiast, fond of Buells and Ducatis. First and foremost, Francis was a writer and educator. In his 50's, he wrote his first novel, Waking Brigid, which will be published late 2007 (www.sobelweber.com). He was currently working on a sequel to Brigid, which, like all of his work, deals with the themes of religion, myth and fantasy. Francis is survived by his wife Amy Rumsey Clark of Loganville, stepson Cory Burchfield of Loganville, sister Sybil Patelles of Fayetteville, and nephew Lucas Patelles Jr. and his family of Fayetteville. He will be wonderfully remembered as loving husband, father, brother, and uncle. His sense of humor and voice of reason will always be treasured. A Celebration of Francis' life will be held at a later date. Carl J Mowell & Son, Fayetteville www.mowellfuneralhome.com
