Ann Ward BULLARD Obituary
BULLARD, Ann Ward Ann Ward Bullard died peacefully on October 14, 2017. Services will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, Georgia. Burial will be private. Ann was born July 21, 1931 in Plant City, FL, The daughter of William Esmer and Annie Ward Bullard and a descendant of four Cobb County pioneer families; the Mayes, Wards, Bullards and Freys. Ann graduated from Marietta High School in 1948. After high school, Ann attended Harrison Draughon School of Commerce in Atlanta and went to work for Life Insurance Company of Georgia. While working at Life of Georgia she felt the call to full-time Christian Service. In 1958 She graduated from Montreat college in NC and worked there as an admissions counselor. After leaving her position at Montreat she worked at Agnes Scott College and continued her education at Columbia Theological Seminary, earning a BA and MA in Bible and Christian Education. After her graduation from Columbia, Ann set out on her lifelong devotion of spreading God's Word. Ann served as Christian educator at many churches including Shenandoah Presbyterian church in Miami, FL, Decatur Presbyterian, Decatur, GA, Alexander Memorial Presbyterian Church and Clairmont Presbyterian, Atlanta, GA. She later joined the Presbyterian Center Office of World Service and World Hunger, Atlanta Ministry with International Students (AMIS) where she worked until retirement. Ann was an active member of three churches during her life. She grew up attending First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, GA and spent most of her adult life as a member of First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta and then later joined Peachtree Presbyterian where she was a member at the time of her death. Ann organized and remained close with her MHS class mates up until a recent fall left her unable to keep up two of her favorite activities, eating and organizing others. She was active in Montreat College Alumni Association, often trying to recruit young people looking for a college to apply. Ann never met a stranger, always introduced herself to everyone in a room and as a result had a wide range of friends and frequently encountered people she knew where ever she went. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, William Edward "Bill" Bullard and his wife Peggy. She is survived by her sister Judy Bullard of Marietta; 5 nieces and nephews, Stevan M. Bullard of Atlanta; William Carter Bullard & wife, Maria Liotta of New York, NY; Kathy Saul & husband, Robert; Leslie B. Mullis & husband, Michael all of Atlanta; Kelie Bullard Crowe of Marietta; 7 great nieces and nephews; Adam Mullis, Emily Saul, Katie Saul, Maggie Mullis, Sarah Mullis all of Atlanta; Abby Crowe and Will Crowe of Marietta. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. before the service at the Church.
