She was always a very active church volunteer, serving on the boards of Park United Methodist Church in Lexington, KY and Sharp United Methodist Church in Young Harris, GA. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Rachel Jane Sheffield and John Mark Sheffield, and her brother, Calvin Cochran.
