HUDSON, Jr., Bill Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Bill Hudson, Jr. of Atlanta, affectionately known as "Lil Bruh", "Mr. Bill" and "Pop"; Friday, November 17, 2017, 12:00 pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 17 Fairburn Rd SW, Atlanta, GA; Rev. Dr. Douglas E. Stowers, Pastor; Interment, South View Cemetery. Bill retired after 37 years of service from the Atlanta Journal and Constitution where he worked in the photo department. He enjoyed photography so much that he kept a camera with him and did excellent professional freelance work as well. Bill also enjoyed spending many hours sweating and working in his vegetable gardens year after year and sitting outdoors as he would say, "just getting some fresh air." He is preceded in death by: his parents; daughters, Beverly Ann Sheppard and Baby Girl Hudson; wife, Bertha L. Hudson; four sisters, Mattie Bell McCray, Christine Dixon, Mozelle Hudson, Claire Hudson and Fannie V. Burks; two brothers, Willie Hudson and James Hudson. He leaves to cherish his fond memories: devoted daughter, Valoria M. Hudson; daughters, Barbara J. Merritte, Sylvia Cannon (Gerald), Patricia L. Hardin (James) and Anita Sheppard (James); sons, William Hampton, Jr. (Catherine) and Carl Brooks (Tuprena); Brothers, Walter Hudson(PA) and Dr. Luscious Hudson(CA); two, great- grandbabies Diamond S. Ogletree and Dallas S. Merritt; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
