THOMPSON, Carl Dean Carl Dean (Dean) Thompson, of Suwanee Georgia, was called to Heaven on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. He was born on June 15th, 1949 in Grandview, Indiana to Sylvia Mae Ball and Chester Dair Thompson. Dean graduated from Tell City High School in1967. He played the trumpet and organized baseball, where he was a catcher. He loved animals and was an avid car enthusiast. Dean was among one of the world's best providers for his family while at the same time making lasting and loving memories together. On August 27, 1970, Dean married Ruth Ellen Gray from Salem, Illinois. They originally resided in Lexington, Kentucky, then Evansville, Indiana, then Charlotte, North Carolina, and finally Atlanta, Georgia. Dean was a technology executive with Honeywell Computers & CPT Computers, before starting his own technology company, NSA Industries. He was a devoted husband and father to their three children, Nick Thompson of Suwanee, Sarah Thibadeau of Alpharetta, and Amy Hewitt of Roswell. They resided in Dunwoody, Ga for 32 years. It brought Dean great joy to spend time with his seven grandchildren whom he dearly loved; Joey, Lindsay, Ava, and Luke (Nick), Matthew and Samantha (Sarah), and Ryan (Amy). They will greatly miss their Grandpa Dean ("Paw"). He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ellen Thompson, his mother and father and his 3 brothers; Jim Thompson, Donald (Donny) Thompson, and David Thompson. He is survived by his sisters; Eldora Thompson Anderson of Lakeland, Florida, sister Carol Thompson Hemmerlein of Daytona Beach, Florida, his many cousins, nieces and nephews and his three children and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends in remembrance and celebration of Dean's life on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 pm at McDonald & Son Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming, Ga. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
