Carol BAXTER Obituary
BAXTER, Carol Adler Carol Adler Baxter, 64, of Marietta, passed away on October 7, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Carol was born in Columbia, SC to Betty and Jack Adler and was the oldest of four siblings. She is survived by her husband of 25 years William "Billy" Baxter, Billy's daughters and their children: Marie (Kadyn, Kalyn, Khya) and Ann (Jasmine, Jada). She is also survived by her brother John Adler, Jr., sister Janice (Matt) Little, sister Nancy (Talmadge) Erwin, and 5 nephews and nieces: Matthew (Krysten, Ian) Little, Marie (Leland) Fay, John (Sarah, Lorelai) Erwin, David (Alex) Erwin, Sarah (Brian) Wallace. Carol was pre-deceased by her parents Jack and Betty Adler of Roswell, GA, grandparents George and Dallas Ball of Opelika, AL, and Fred and Edna Adler of Atlanta, GA. Carol retired as a teacher from the Cobb County School System where she was loved, respected, and twice selected as Teacher of the Year. After retiring, Carol enjoyed relaxing in Blue Ridge, GA, leading Precept Bible study classes, traveling near and far, mentoring teachers through ADK, visiting older adults, and meeting new people. She was loved and admired by all who had the joy of knowing her. A memorial service for Carol will be held at Carmichael Funeral Home, 1130 Whitlock Ave, Marietta on October 16 at 1:00 with visitation at noon. In addition, a memorial service will be held for Carol at Temple Baptist Church, 28 High Oak Circle , Morganton, GA on October 21 at 1:00 PM.
