BLY (Greer), Carolyn Carolyn Greer Bly, age 83, died of complications due to Alzheimer's on Dec 3, 2017, in Tucker, GA. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Allan, of Stone Mountain; her sons/daughters-in-law, Richard/Becky, of Germantown, MD and Robert/Gina of Lilburn, GA; and her grand-daughters Lucy, Charlye and Annie, of Lilburn, GA. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Melba, John, EA, Isabel, Jennie, Clyde and Dottie. Carolyn was born on February 6, 1934 in Andrews, NC, to parents Elijah Greer and Ethel Greer. She graduated valedictorian from Florida Southern College in 1955 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Music. In 1955, she moved to West Palm Beach to teach elementary school. Carolyn was a loving wife and an awesome mother. She married Allan Bly in 1958 and the couple had two children together. Carolyn was a social, active Christian who was deeply involved in her church for the majority of her life. She was the principal for over 20 years for "The Growing Place" school at the First Methodist Church of Coral Gables. She was also able to use her musical gifts as organist, choir director and choir member at several churches. Most recently she sang in the choir at Mountain Park United Methodist in Stone Mountain. Her family and friends will always remember her super hero skills as a nurturer, teacher, encourager, good listener and joyful person. Visitation is scheduled for 11AM on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Bill Head Funeral Home 6101 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, Ga., 770-564-2726 with the funeral to follow at noon. Rev. Charles Robinson will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carolyn's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to .
