Carolyn Reynolds Obituary
REYNOLDS, Carolyn Walden Carolyn Walden Reynolds, of Atlanta, Georgia, died on December 3, 2017 at the age of 91. She was the daughter of Clarke Edward Walden, Sr. and Nellie Rae Carlton Walden. Both preceded her in death as did her only sibling, Clarke Edward Walden, Jr. She graduated from Clarkston High School and attended Georgia State University, at the time a division of the University of Georgia. She was a member of the Chi Rho Sigma sorority and was elected the school's May Queen one year. After college, she was secretary to the president of Emory University, Dr. Goodrich C. White. Later in her life, she was supervisor of executive services at the Coca-Cola Company. Carolyn married George Scott Reynolds in 1948 and they had three sons, Scott, Ryan, and Keith. They had many happy years together until his premature death in 1976. Her husband was the author of The Mortality Merchants, a bestselling book on life insurance. Carolyn traveled with him to various cities across the country where he appeared on radio and television stations discussing his book. The three loves of her life were her three sons. Her love and devotion to them was beyond measure. She also cherished her three daughters-in-law, her eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Carolyn's sweet and kind nature never faltered, her smile and laugh were contagious, and she always put others first, making every person, and every occasion, special. And, when life presented challenges, she never complained, but met them with determination. For our family, she was the center, our beating heart, our constant star. She is survived by her sons, Scott and his wife, Pam, their son George and daughters, Alice Anne and her husband, Patrick Wilson, their son Mac, and Mary Nell; Ryan and his wife, Karen, their sons Reid and Brent; and by Keith and his wife, Susan, and their three daughters, Lindsey, Carolyn, and Rachel. A graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Road, in Sandy Springs on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 3:00 P.M.
