Catita EDWARD Obituary
EDWARD, Catita Raquel Catita Raquel Edward, 73, passed away on June 9, 2017, in her Atlanta home surrounded by family. Catita was born on December 15, 1943 in Cochabamba, Bolivia, where her parents, Gerd and Gerda (nee Gruenberger) Levin, immigrated after escaping Nazi Germany. The family moved to Uruguay when she was three, and her brother, Peter, was born there in 1955. At the age of 12 the family moved to Argentina. From there, they moved to New York in 1959, where she learned English and completed her high school education. Catita graduated with a B.S. in linguistics from Georgetown University in 1965, and received her Masters in economics from Johns Hopkins University in 1967. Throughout her life she continued to love learning about people, cultures, travel extensively for business and pleasure, and was a voracious reader. She later lived in Hamburg, Germany, where her daughter, Nicole, was born in 1971, before moving to Atlanta in 1977. Catita was an accomplished business woman, and worked with a variety of businesses. For the last 20 years, she worked as Manager of North America for Seibel Design Partner GmbH. She remarried in 2012 to Fred Vetter. Her greatest joy was her granddaughter, Nina. She loved being her "Tita." Catita is survived by her daughter, Nicole Edward Grace, son-in-law Thomas Grace, granddaughter Nina Grace, brother Peter Levin, nephew Jonathan Levin, and cousins Michael Greening and Joan Greening. She was a force and is dearly missed by her family and friends.
