Donald KAYLER Obituary
KAYLER, Jr., Donald Clark Donald Clark Kayler, Jr., of Roswell and formerly of Dunwoody, died September 10, 2017. Mr. Kayler, "DK", was born in Cleveland, OH on June 6, 1934 and was the son of the late, Donald Clark Kayler, Sr. and June Annette Chase Kayler. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marijean Rupp Kayler; sons, Donald C. Kayler, III (Laurie), Thomas C. Kayler, Kevin M. Kayler (Stephanie); grandchildren, Chase Kayler, Matthew Kayler, Michael Kayler, Melody Montgomery, Mackenzie Kayler, Carlisle Kayler, Sydney Kayler; sisters, Ann LeMoine, Karen Dritsas (George); brother, Keith Kayler (Sandi); and many friends and extended family who loved him dearly. DK served as a corporal in the US Army from 1956 - 1958, playing piano and running the Officer's Club while stationed in BarleDuc, France. He was a born salesman and worked for many years selling women's sportswear with Bobby Brooks and Rosemarie Reed. For the bulk of his career, from 1970 - 1999, he sold women's swimwear for Jantzen. When asked about selling women's swimwear, he always remarked, "Somebody has to do it". DK had a gift for making everyone feel important and special. He always remembered your name, and you could count on him to have a smile on his face and a great story to tell. He played fabulous piano and loved his barbershop group, Stone Mountain Chorus. He was known as Big Bear for his boys' Indian Guides and coached them through all their years of baseball. He had a great love of animals - especially his dogs Beaucoup, Dana, Bridget and his cat, Tiger. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Atlanta Humane Society. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
