VAN WYCKOFF, Donald "Don" Mr. Donald "Don" Van Wyckoff age 88 of Sandy Springs, then Blairsville passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 8, 2017 following illness. Don was born on Jun 11, 1929 in Loami, IL, the son of the late Paul and Louise Wyckoff. He, and his loving wife, Joyce Wyckoff, lived in the Atlanta area since 1954, where they were both active members of St. John United Methodist Church. Don and Joyce moved to Blairsville in 2001 where they joined the First United Methodist Church. Serving both communities and churches, Don helped build many houses for Habitat for Humanity, delivered Meals on Wheels and served in numerous other capacities. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving Don are his brother, Alan, nieces Karen and Gina Wyckoff and his three sons and daughters in law, Ken and Aileen Wyckoff of Johns Creek, Kurt and Christiane Wyckoff of Marietta, Kevin and Cheryl Wyckoff of Sandy Springs, two daughters and sons in law, Dena and Chris Daniel, Donna and Wayne Williams, six grandchildren, Spencer, Carden, Caroline, Virginia, Steven, Kathryn Wyckoff. A host of his church family, relatives and friends also survive. A Celebration of Don's Life will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. John United Methodist Church 550 Mt. Paran Rd, Atlanta 30327 with the Rev. Hannah Garrett-Johnson and Pastor Mark Burgess officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations be made to either St. John Attn: Community Outreach Fund OR First United Methodist of Union County Attn: Support the Needy Fund in memory of Mr. Wyckoff. The family will meet with friends following the service at the church.
