Frances BONDURANT Obituary
BONDURANT, Frances Frances (Fran) Ward Bondurant age 91, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2017, at her home. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Melody and Louis Bondurant, Mary and Ward Bondurant, Rhea and Greg Oberholtzer, her six grandchildren, Marlee, Leslie, Sam, Jack, Meg, and Matthew, her two great-grandchildren, Colton and Maddie, and many nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Atlanta, she attended E. Rivers School, North Fulton High School, and graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA degree in English and History. She was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church for over sixty years, a member of the Buckhead Book Study Club, Tallulah Falls Junior Guild, Past President of the Rabun-Gap Junior Guild, Past President the Iris Garden Club, a member of the Shepherd Center Auxiliary, a member of Tri Delta Sorority, a Sustaining member of the Atlanta Junior League, a member of the Atlanta Debutante Club, and a member of The Ladies Golf Association at Cherokee Country Club. She enjoyed golf, bridge, gardening and traveling all over the world and pursued these interests for many years. She was a Past President of the Auxiliary of the Egleston Hospital for Children (now Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) and was a Life Member of the Auxiliary. For sixteen years she was Director of Volunteer Services at Children's and, after retirement, she was a three year volunteer for the Olympics and the Paralympics that were held in Atlanta in 1996. She also loved spending time at their summer home at Lake Rabun with her family and many friends. A memorial service will be held this Saturday, December 16th, at 11:00 am, in the Kellett Chapel at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road, Atlanta. Visitation will follow the service. There will be a private, family interment in the Church's Memorial Columbarium preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
