Ganius BYRON Obituary
BYRON, Ganius Lee Ganius Lee "Bug" Byron, age 52, of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2017 of congestive heart failure at Emory Midtown Hospital. Ganius graduated from Benjamin E. Mays High School in 1983, where he was a proud member of the Mays Raiders football team. He attended Fort Valley State University for two years. He then served in the U.S. Air Force for two years and was stationed in Texas and California. After returning to Atlanta he worked in the printing business and food services. He had a passion for cooking and sports, and was a loyal Falcons fan. As his father, who was a founding member of the Tampa Golf Club (TGC) in Tampa, Florida, Ganius enjoyed playing golf and received several trophies as a youth. In Atlanta, he was a member of the Rocky Head United Methodist Church and enjoyed riding with the All the King's Men Motorcycle Club. He is survived by his sister, Dr. Gay L. Byron (Washington, DC); nephews, Lloyd Byron Davis and Philip "PJ" Davis, Jr.; aunts, Dr. Lorene B. Brown (Atlana, GA) and Mrs. Sylvia Berry (Albany, GA); uncle, Mr. Henry S. Byron (Tampa, FL), and a host of cousins and loyal friends. Celebration of Life Services will be Saturday, September 2, 2017, 1:00 pm at Rocky Head United Methodist Church, 6020 Old Campbellton Rd. SW, Atlanta, GA 30331. Visitation will be held this evening from -6:00 - 8:00 pm at Murray Brothers (404) 349-3000 mbfh.com.
