Gutherrean Martin BROWN Obituary
BROWN, Gutherrean Martin Gutherrean Martin Brown of Decatur, Georgia was born in Louisville, Alabama on October 13, 1935. She was the third child born to the late Fleming and Jessie Mae Martin. Gutherrean was educated in the Fulton County School System. Gutherrean Brown was married to Robert E. Brown and was a faithful member of Flat Shoals United Methodist Church, where she became an Evangelist. Over the years, she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Bible Studies at Flat Shoals and several other churches. She also helped run the Food Pantry for the Church. She lived her life as a believer and follower of Christ. She loved talking about the Bible, and her awesome faith in God inspired many to embrace the teachings of Jesus Christ. Evangelist Brown was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, and eldest son, Larry Martin. She leaves to mourn her passing five loving daughters, Gutherrean Peeples, Juanita Williams (Gregory), Evelyn Meertins (Burchmore), Deborah Reid, and Leisa Powers (Tony); three faithful sons, Robert Brown, Darian Brown (Sonya) and Antonio Brown (Kentria); seven granddaughters, seven grandsons, four great-granddaughters, and four great-grandsons. She also leaves one sister, Emily Jean Hill; one brother, Jeremiah (Jerry) Martin; one very special life-long friend, Mrs. Dorothy Walker; her sisters in the ministry, Rev. Carolyn Foster and Rev. Sandra Arnold; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Gutherrean will be laid to rest on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at East Lake United Methodist Church at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at Gregory B. Levitt and Sons at 4347 Flat Shoals Parkway from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018.
