1936 - 2017 Obituary Condolences Gallery
CRAWFORD, Sr., Hal Spearman Hal S. Crawford, Sr., 81, passed away November 7, 2017 at Northside Hospital after succumbing to pneumonia. He was born in Buckhead, Morgan County, Georgia to Custer Crawford and Martha Spearman Crawford Talley on March 7, 1936. He attended Morgan County High School and the University of Georgia where he was a member and president of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity. Hal was also the past president of the Optimist Club in Sandy Springs as well as served on the Fulton County Board of Elections. His involvement also included being active in state politics as well as a Friend to the Boy Scouts of America. Hal also stayed busy with involvement in his membership with the Peachtree United Methodist Church, before transferring to Mt. Bethel Methodist in East Cobb. Lastly, he faithfully served his country in the Coast Guard. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean Stigler Crawford, and three sons; Hal Jr., (Margaret), Alan (Teresa), and Robert (Lisa), his brother in Madison, Georgia, and his wife Robert and Nancy Crawford and his sister from Leesburg, Florida, Ann Carmichael and also leaves behind grandchildren: Melissa Kate, Elizabeth, Andrew, Laura, Jeanine, and Christopher as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday night 7:00-9:00pm at Sandy Springs Chapel with services there Friday morning at 11:00am. Burial cemetery will be determined at a later time.
