One who went a long way; at the same time maintaining his fine qualities. Not a politician but a man of the people, who never heard a need that he didn't try to fulfill. A man of honesty, discernment and care for those who needed, at times, advice and experience in solving the difficult issues of life. For a small town to rear and nurture such a caring and generous man is magnificent and reveals the potential of these tiny residential areas to incubate, with success, the small ones entrusted to their care. We don't know why he had to go but the Supreme being must have something important for Jack to do. A few years back I called him at the Ga.Senate to inquire about something in Georgia government; he returned my call and it seemed that we had seen each other over the years.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jack before and after he became a Senator. He was one prince of a guy. His father Wilton Hill and I were very close friends and seems like yesterday that I was having dinner with Jack and his family after Wilton's funeral.
Senators like Jack Hill are few and his contributions to our state will long be felt and remembered.
May God be with the Hill family during this period of lost.

I was fortunate to be Jack's First Sargent in the GAANG. Jack was one of a kind, one of the good guys. I can still see his smile as he said "Jimmy let's go supervise by wondering around". Last time I saw Jack was a few years ago in the Guyton Christmas parade. I walked with him for a while. I will pray for the family and friends. God Bless.

Senator Jack Hill was a fine gentleman and statesman. His impact on his district and the State of Georgia was tremendous. There are very few legislators with the knowledge and skill he possessed. He sought no recognition or credit for his accomplishments and went about his service in an unassuming method. He will truly be missed.

Mr. Jack was a wonderful Christian man with many lifelong achievements, but as I shared my thoughts with Dawn last night, he was much more than anything he accomplished as an businessman or politician (although he did many great things for his hometown, his district and the state of Georgia), to me, it was more important that he was a truly good soul...A man that took the time as a neighbor to stop and chat and ask how you were doing with sincerity. As our Heavenly Father requires of us, he was humble, kind and always willing to share a smile and an ear or help of any kind. My heart hurts for my dear friends and his entire family, and I will be here for you and keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Love and Deepest Sympathy,
Anna Shuman

I was blessed to have served with Senator Hill as a part of the Southern Regional Education Board for many years. He was kind, generous, and honorable. A great Christian man. I watched and learned from him over the years make great accomplishments for SREB and in agriculture for the Southeast region of our country. He was dedicated to the service of his constituents and a true servant at heart. It was my honor to serve with him. Francis Thompson, Louisiana State Legislator

As a new senator, Chairman Hill was a great mentor for me and was very patient with my questions. He was kind to all and one of the people who really can't be replaced. He is leaving a great legacy but a huge vacuum in the Senate. I will miss him a lot.

Jack and I were classmates from the first grade thru our senior year at Redisville High School. He was always the one who mediated and stopped juvenile fights and altercations between the less mature classmates. His leadership and integrity was evident even in our teenage years. I always valued his judgement and knowledge of political affairs in Georgia. The world is a lessor place without Jack Hill. He will be sorely missed as a classmate and as a friend.

Love and prayers to the Hill family. Senator Hill exemplified what it means to serve with unwavering integrity. He was always kind, ready to listen and support, and he was so well loved by his wonderful family. I received the greatest blessing when I began my teaching career and enjoyed ten wonderful years working with his daughter, who lives and works with that same kind integrity her father had for all.

Jack Hill was a kind, thoughtful, wise leader and a friend to the disability community. Because of him, young Georgians with developmental disabilities now have vastly expanded options to attend college and pursue their dreams. He believed in them and so many lives will be better because of that. He will be so very missed. God bless and rest in peace.
