Jeanette STEINHOFF Obituary
STEINHOFF, Jeannette A. Jeannette A. Steinhoff, 94, recently of New York City, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2017, after a wonderful life. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she relocated frequently with her husband of 59 years, James C. Steinhoff, whose work with the Department of Army took them across the United States and Europe. Devoted to each other, they ended up for 25 years in Atlanta, Georgia, before moving to Williamsburg, Virginia, where she stayed for another 15 years. Admired for her kindness and generosity, she cherished the roles of wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, always seeking to serve the needs of others first. Wherever she made her home, she enjoyed theater, books and a good game of bridge. Behind her gentle graciousness and infectious smile lay a devotion to inclusiveness that she practiced throughout her life. Up to her 90th birthday, she remained active in PEO, kept in touch with old friends while making many new ones, and relished bringing people together in her home to share a meal or a good time together. She will be missed by her sons and wives, Jeff and Wendy and John and Sharon; her four grandchildren, Jessica and husband Justin Sorem; Matt and wife Rachael; Sarah; and Seth and fianc? Katy Corella; and four great grandchildren, Patrick, Ben, Ava and Amelia; as well as by her many friends. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, where Jeannette will lay alongside her beloved husband.
