May "Smokey " rest in peace.
While i never met him, I remember Smokey from my high school days by his reputation as one of the great football running backs
who played for Tilden Tech High on the SW Side of Chicago. I also remember he often gained many yards by faking to fumble punts and kickoffs ; when the defense closed in he took off like a rocket.
I was from neighboring high school Gage Park at the time and I watched his performance of that great move one time. I haven't heard his name in over 60 years but it stuck in my memory. I just
felt I had to let his family know that Smokey is remembered as one of the greats out of Chicago.
God bless and keep Joseph " Smokey' Kadlub and his family.
