Joshua Willis KENOLY III

1946 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
KENOLY, III, Joshua Willis Joshua Willis Kenoly III, was born December 2, 1946 in Coffeyville, KS. The fourth son of Joshua Willis Kenoly II and Edith Glover Kenoly graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, OK. Following in the footsteps of his father and two brothers, he joined the military, was stationed at Forbes Field Air Force Base in Topeka, KS and spent four years serving this country in the Vietnam Conflict. While living in California, he worked for the San Francisco Municipal Transit Authority; where he enamored travelers from around the world with his infectious smile and radiant personality operating the cable car system. Those that knew Joshua, aka Duke, aka Muffin, would say he had a gregarious personality, a contagious smile, and an uplifting word for everyone. His positive mindset led others to seek his wise counsel. He was a subject matter expert on African as well as American history. Duke was a storyteller. According to one of his grandchildren, "he was the greatest storyteller of them all". He had a nickname for everyone, and a colloquialism for every occasion. Some were facts, some were fiction, some were embellished, but all were entertaining! He was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua and Edith Glover Kenoly, his oldest brother, Jerry Wayne Kenoly, and his oldest child, Rochelle Yvonne Kenoly. Joshua departed this life on April 22, 2018 after a long illness. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his devoted wife, Marilyn Kenoly, one daughter from their union, Socorro Hadiyah Kenoly, five children from previous unions, Annette Renee' Kenoly, Jacqueline Lynn Kenoly MD, Joshua Willis Kenoly IV (Gwen Kenoly); April Rose Kenoly and Antonio Michael Green (Brenda Green); four brothers, Wendell Ellis Kenoly, Ronald Keith Kenoly (Diana), Mark Allen Kenoly (Delane), Craig Steven Kenoly (Wanda) and eleven grandchildren, 3 great - grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as close friends.
