LEVOW, Joyce Spielberger Joyce died peacefully in the early morning of October 3, 2017 at Eskaton Village Retirement Community in Grass Valley, California. Born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 16, 1929 to Ella and Abe Spielberger, she attended Girl's High School in Atlanta where she graduated in 1947 and was a National Merit Scholar. Joyce attended the University of Indiana in Bloomington, developing a lifelong interest in business and accounting. Returning to Atlanta in 1952, she entered into a 35-year marriage to Harold A. Levow in 1955. Joyce raised four childrenAmy, Alan, Sharon and Carol. She was active in the Atlanta Jewish community and became the youngest President of the Atlanta chapter of Hadassah in the organization's history. At different times a member of the The Temple and Ahavath Achim Synagogue, Joyce was a lifelong Zionist and strong supporter of Israel. She was involved in a variety of Jewish organizations, including Hadassah and the Atlanta Jewish Federation. Staying active in her later years, she played Bridge at a competitive level and became a Life Master, Silver Level. Joyce followed the stock market at an early age and was introduced to it by her father Abe, who wrote a nationally followed market advisory letter. Bright, active and engaged, she imbued her interests in Jewish life, business and politics to her children. Joyce is survived by her daughters Amy Adams, Sharon Schactman and Carol Levow and her son, Alan Levow and his wife Renee. She leaves behind nine grandchildrenSandy Herman, Marc and Julie Adams, Michael and Robin Schactman, Jake and Cary Levow, Raina Nadler and Joshua Schactman and six great grandchildrenBen and Max Herman, Aaron and Mathew Adams, and Jordan and Amber Schactman. A celebration of life party for Joyce will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the home of Renee and Alan Levow at 2891 Howell Mill Rd NW, Atlanta, Georgia.
