Judith MYERS Obituary
MYERS (Abbott), Judith "Judy" Judith (Judy) Abbott Myers, age 80, passed away surrounded by family and friends on October 11, 2017. Judy was born on February 1, 1937 in Whitman, Mass, grew up in Forest Hills, NY and would spend her summers in Amagansett, Long Island. In addition to making lifelong friends while attending Brown University, Judy would meet her husband of 58 years, Dirck Myers. Dirck and Judy have three daughters, Deborah, Jennifer and Amy. She would share her infectious love of New York and her beloved Amagansett with her family as they grew. Although Dirck and Judy called many places home during their wonderful time together, they raised their three daughters in Atlanta, where Judy was a formidable competitor on the tennis circuits. Where ever she called home, Judith was always active in the community, volunteering her time, along with being a devoted wife, mother and " Grammy" to Avery, Lauryn, Lilly, Taylor and Chloe . Judy is survived by her husband, three daughters and five grandchildren. It is impossible to capture how much she will be missed. She touched so many lives and will be lovingly remembered by all those who had the privilege to know her. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Clayton, GA on Saturday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m. Saint James Episcopal Church, 260 Warwoman Rd, Clayton, GA 30525; 706-782-6179.
