Julius ROBINSON Obituary
ROBINSON, Julius Miller Celebration of life for Julius Miller Robinson, will be held on Saturday May 19, 2018. At 1:30 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 4245 Cascade Rd, sw Atlanta. Dr. Craig L. Oliver Sr. Pastor. Julius Miller Robinson, Jr. made his transition on May 4, 2018. Julius was born at Grady Hospital in Atlanta on February 11, 1953 to Julius Miller Robinson, Sr. and Nell M. Brewer Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his only sister, Tynyah Robinson-Clark, and nephew, Victor Carnes. Julius matriculated through the Atlanta Public Schools System, and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1971. He was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA in 1972. He was called to active duty (drafted), serving in the United States Air Force from 1973-1977 and received an honorable discharge. He returned to the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1979, receiving the BA in Psychology. He held the BBA in Economics, and the MBA in Marketing from Georgia State University. Julius celebrated 30 years working as a Telecommunications Specialist/Sales Representative with AT&T April 4, 2018. Julius accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of West Hunter Street Baptist Church where his father served as a deacon. In 1995 he joined Elizabeth Baptist Church. He was a member of the male chorus and was ordained as a Deacon in 2016. Since 1995 Julius was an active civic leader within his Midwest Cascade Corridor Community. He received the Atlanta Planning Advisory Board (APAB) Community Civic Engagement Award in 2014. Julius served as Chairman of Neighborhood Planning Unit-Q and was the first President of the Regency Park Homeowners Association. He was one of the founders of the Annual Cascade 5-K Walk/Run and was its first Project Manager. Julius played a key role in leading and managing the completion of the Danforth Road Sidewalks-Capital Improvement Project. Julius was united in marriage to Dr. Glenda Morris-Robinson on September 1, 1990. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Glenda, son Julius Miller Robinson, III, (Samina), daughter Gabriella Grace Nell Robinson, granddaughter Malina Robinson, grandson Elijah King, mother-in-law Millie Grace Morris, In-Laws Alton and Kimerla Joyner, Albert and Rita Skinner, and Thomas and Lexcine Wall, nephews Christopher Carnes, Densier Carnes, Alexander Skinner, Christopher Wall and Cortney Wall (Veronica), niece Brittany Skinner, first cousins from the Brewer and Robinson families, and a host of other relatives and friends.
