GALLAGHER, June Santee 1914 2017 June Santee Gallagher, 103 years young, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2017 at the Mayfield Oaks Senior Residence in Alpharetta, GA surrounded by Family and Friends. Born in Bethlehem, PA, she was the second oldest of four children of Dr. Delbert K. Santee (Fourth St. Medical Office and St. Lukes Hospital) and June Merkle Santee. Mrs. Gallagher graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem, and Connecticut College for Women in New London, Connecticut. She married the late Thomas K. Garihan, a graduate of Lehigh University and a Bethlehem Steel vice president. They had two daughters, June Santee (Sandee) Garihan and Madelyn Ann (Lynn) Garihan both of whom graduated from Liberty High School and Penn State University, and who now reside in Roswell, GA. In 1965 Mrs. Gallagher married Robert T. Gallagher, Dean of Mining Engineering at Lehigh University. They spent many happy years in Bethlehem, and travelling around the globe for Mr. Gallagher's consulting work. After his death she moved to Roswell, GA to be closer to her daughters. Mrs. Gallagher was a very creative person. She was an artist, a ceramist, and a jewelry designer. She filled her home with an eclectic art collection, and African and Asian treasures from her travels with Mr. Gallagher. She passed this creative spirit on to her family, and delighted in teaching others through her art and ceramic classes. She also was an avid Bridge player, winning many Bridge Tournaments over her lifetime. She celebrated her 103rd birthday in June of 2017 joined by her extended family and many friends. Survivors include her daughters Lynn Erdely and Sandee Garihan of Roswell, GA, grandson Kirby and his wife Ashley and great granddaughter Iyla Erdely of White Salmon, WA, stepson Bill and his wife Cindi Gallagher and their family of Dallas, Texas, niece Susan and her husband John Burritt and their family of Edina, Minnesota plus a host of Santee, Garihan and Gallagher nieces and nephews and their families. A "Celebration of Life" memorial will be held in early 2018 in Roswell, Georgia.
