WEIK (Jones), Kay Frances "Katie" Kay "Katie" Frances Jones Weik, 81, of Covington, passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Glen Haven Baptist Church in McDonough. Katie sang in the church choir for over 40 years, taught a Girl's Sunday school class, was in charge of a Bible Correspondence School for 5 1/2 years, and was also in charge of the "Road Runners" Senior Ministry for 9 1/2 years. She loved to read, play card games on the computer and loved to watch mysteries on TV. Katie stood side-by-side her loving husband Eddie for 63 years and raised 5 kids that grew to a family (including in-laws) of 9 kids, 30 grandkids, and 25 great-grandkids. She was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Howard W. and Lillie (Etheridge) Jones, Sr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Casey Thomas Jones, Howard Wesley "Red" Jones, Jr., Bobby Lee Jones, Sr., Charlie Stevenson Jones, sisters, Doris Jones and Miriam Morris. Katie is survived by her husband, Edwin Albert Weik, Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie Edwin (Roberta) Weik, Richard Wesley (Sandra) Weik; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Ann Weik Wilson, Toni (Mark) Weik Henry and Cindy (Rodney) Weik Hatcher; brother Billy Joe Jones; 30 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at Glen Haven Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Creaseman and Rev. Bill Childers officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Monday, December 18, 2017 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Wheeler Funeral Home and Crematory, 11405 Brown Bridge Rd, Covington (770) 786-7111. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Good Samaritan Baptist Missions (for the Christmas gifts for children in the Feeding Center) c/o Glen Haven Baptist Church 345 E.
